Before I was a mother...

I was reading the blog of a friend of a friend (yes, I often find myself reading blogs of people I don't know...I don't know why!) and she had a post called Before I was a mother. I enjoyed reading it so much that I thought I'd do my own list and see what my friends could add to it! Hope you enjoy.

Before I was a mother...

  • I could eat my meal before it was cold
  • I never paid much attention to the color of poop
  • I could go to Target 4 times a week just for fun
  • I could sleep through tornado sirens
  • I thought all bottles were created equal

Before I was a mother...

  • I didn't know where the wild things were
  • I didn't know about the great green room and the red balloon
  • I didn't know just how Very hungry the caterpillar was
  • I didn't know that you shouldn't give a mouse a cookie

Before I was a mother...

  • I had a limited understanding of sacrifical love
  • I didn't realize all my mom did and does!
  • I never said "Forever and Always" or "To the moon and back"
  • I didn't know I could love my husband more

You are never too young for a Sonic drink, right??

John Paul had lots of fun with his Aunt Dianna this week. We had fun shopping and decorating...every little boys favorite things!!

Extra pictures

John Paul started eating cereal last week! He started taking longer naps too! Coincidence, I think not!

He has a slight drooling problem but it doesn't seem to bother him!

I love my little guy!

Father's Day

What better time than Father's day to remember the generations of men in your family whom you honor, respect, and love. We named John Paul after his father, grandfathers, great-grandfathers, and great-great grandfathers , not only to carry on a tradition, but to hopefully carry on some of the characteristics of these wonderful men.

To celebrate his first Father's day, guess where Paul wanted to eat??? That's right, Taco Bell!!

A Stinky Candle??

Not Mommy's silly songs. Not Daddy's funny faces. Not playtime with a grandparent. Not even a cute, cuddly toy. No, it was a Stinky candle that finally made John Paul laugh hilariously!! We were buying a wedding gift in Dillard's and as I was checking out, Paul and John Paul were looking around. When Paul picked up a candle (the round one above) to smell it, John Paul just started laughing! He laugh for a few minutes at every round, stinky candle Paul picked up. Of course we didn't have the video camera with us in Dillard's!! I just might have to buy that stinky candle.

These are a few of my favorite things

At 16 weeks old, John Paul has established a few of his favorite things to do. Here is a short list:

1. Sleep!!

2. Look at the cute baby in the mirror!

3. Walk! (or at least his version of it--he really gets around!)

4. Blow bubbles on the bed
